Industry-Institute Interaction Cell

In the present scenario, academic teaching in technical education is incomplete without the knowledge of field aspects of the industry. Creation and maintenance of a lasting relationship between academia and industrial organizations is a highly recognized mechanism to manage the changing demands of industrial sector. Till about a decade ago in our country, the industry led an unreal existence with no pressure to innovate as it was insulated from the heat of competition. But with the advent of globalization and opening up of the economy, competition among industries has become very stiff which has compelled it to forge a reinforcing relationship with academic institutions.

The industry-institute interaction helps in bridging the gap between industry and technical institutes by helping the students understand the work culture/functioning of industry, thereby, enhancing their employability. Continuous and sustained interaction with industry provides a wide range of opportunities to the aspiring technocrats to develop their practical skills in manufacturing techniques, floor practices, fabrication, human resource management, hardware, software, career development, leadership qualities and management skills.

The cell organizes workshops, seminars and symposia with joint participation of faculty and the industrial experts. Expert talks on industrial practices, latest trends and developments, future plans and their past experiences delivered by entrepreneurs and industrialists help in acquainting the students with the industrial requirements and expectations of industry. In addition to this, the cell organizes industrial visits and field trips for the diploma seekers of all branches on a regular basis, which facilitate in narrowing the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical skills
